Herbie Hancock has been named the 2014 Charles Eliot Norton Professor of Poetry at Harvard University. That means the keyboard legend will give six lectures on “The Ethics of Jazz” (which include a talk about Miles Davis) starting Feb. 3. (The lectures require free tickets from the Harvard Box Office.) Hancock’s predecessors include T.S. Eliot, Leonard Bernstein, and Igor Stravinsky.
